The second round of initiatives that will see Tenute Rubino as an ambassador of Salento wines in the United States.

Special dinners and events in the most important Italian New York and Los Angeles restaurants.
Brindisi, 11 June 2011. In the last hour the news that "Wine Enthusiast" has awarded 88 points to Tenute Rubino’s Giancola (100% White Malvasia) This is in addition to the remarkable 93 points awarded to the Torre Testa (Susumaniello) from the same prestigious Outlet. he two results have a special meaning for the Tenute Rubino business. Since the first vintage in 2000, n fact, the company staff, headed by young entrepreneur Luigi Rubino, has strived to create a productive method to fully enhance the very best of native Salento grape varieties. It is an operational plan which, now pulled abroad by a certain ’Made in Italy’ appeal, has revealed Tenute Rubino’s attention to quality and the wishes of the customer.
Protagonists of this new promotional push will be some of the wines from the Tenute Rubino label, produced within ideal and typically Mediterranean climatic conditions and characterized by these same production environments and, once again, some of the best Italian restaurants in America will participate.
On June 14, in fact, there will be the second round of "Wines of Puglia" meetings -- a journey of discovery of the grapes from the largest Eastern region and that will involve the some of the most prestigious Italian restaurant and best wine shops in New York and Los Angeles. The initiative, which will run until the end of July, will be nineteen food and wine tasting events, involving the greatest purveyors of Italian cuisine in these two great American cities. This is how Tenute Rubno and project partner restaurateurs pay homage to those consumers / travelers who love to delve that little bit deeper into quality Italian wine knowledge and the discovery of native grapes that impress both in terms of their quality andtheir unique identity.

Luigi Rubino
"The charm and the inherent quality of the Mediterranean diet - says Louis Rubino - will be revealed through a combination of high quality food and wine drawing on the culinary traditions of Puglia. The menus for each event will, in fact, be customized by the participating restaurants and will present some of the most typical and traditional flavors of Salento and the south. We will attempt to heighten the organoleptic and particular varietal qualities of the wines through expert food pairing, to complete this trip being offered to American gourmets, to discover the fascinating Mediterranean Puglia".
Tenute Rubino will bring four wines that, as single-variety labels, will display the best of the main indigenous Salento grape varieties. The American gourmets will have the chance to discover the "Susumaniello", a vine threatened with extinction and that Tenute Rubino has boosted through a major production project, through the Torre Testa (IGT Salento) -- the company’s top wine. There is also space, however, for the "Primitivo", revealed through the deep notes of the Punta Aquila (Salento IGT), and a fragrant, perfumed version of the "Malvasia Bianca", with the pleasure, scent and persistence of Giancola (Salento IGT) and finally, symbolic of the Italian varieties, the Aleatico - the only sweet wine of theTenute Rubino range.
