NARRATING SALENTO

The objective of Salento Photography Tellers, the international photography contest sponsored by Tenute Rubino, is thus to synergically promote high-quality viticulture and its territory of origin; and what could possibly be better than photography – a tool within everybody’s reach – to document the charming splendour of Salento? The first edition of this free-for-all, recurring competition held in Brindisi will cater to Italian and international participants and spectators.
The first and foremost objective of the contest is to incentivize knowledge of this land, with a particular focus on its two most distinctive traits: its maritime environment and its ancient viticultural traditions. New communication strategies are necessary to unveil Salento’s treasures to the greater public; all those gazes which linger upon this heel of Italy, and which are instantly stunned by its ancient beauty and rich history, must be given a voice.

The photographers intending to participate should thus explore Salento’s coastlands and hinterland, seeking out places of cultural and naturalistic significance and attempting to narrate their enchanting atmosphere from a personal, stirring point of view.  

A PARTNERSHIP WITH TENUTE RUBINO FOR THE PROMOTION OF SALENTO

Tenute Rubino intends to continue collaborating with those participants, both professional and amateur, who can demonstrate their ability to express certain themes in a modern and creative way, and who share Tenute Rubino’s wider goal: the promotion of this astonishing, gripping land.  
The winners and the most deserving photographers will receive ample space on the website and will be called upon for other projects; their pictures will be the protagonists of a special display at the Salento Finibus Terrae Festival. The Contest is thus an invitation to become a part of Tenute Rubino’s world, a bustling laboratory in which oenology and territory walk hand in hand towards excellence.

The Web is a perfect glocal tool: it allows everyone to be truly global without giving up their identity. Local action, global interaction: thus Tenute Rubino expresses its modernity, and the International Photography Contest 'Salento Photography Tellers' is the pivot of such interactivity.

Participation to the contest will be on a strictly online basis: the participants will upload their pictures directly from their computers, and everyone will be able to vote online for their favourite finalists and thus determine the winners.
