After Switzerland and Canada, Tenute Rubino and 'Vini di Puglia' – a special project dedicated to the promotion of the wines from Salento to the world, returns to North America with a series of special tastings of their top wines, held in renowned NY’s restaurants from April to October 2011.
The Big Apple is the stage of the world, where many new trends begin, in fashion, culture and of course in the food and restaurant scene. With the arrival of spring and summer, there is a desire for adventure, even at the table. Join us in our delicious journey to Salento through Tenute Rubino’s wines, rich with tradition, flavor, and paired to delicious menus or recipes by some of our best New York chefs, specifically designed to exalt the aromas of the wines.
Directly from the historic area of Northern Salento in the Apulia Region of Italy, Tenute Rubino Winery is excited to showcase their wines in 5 prestigious NYC restaurants, renowned for the authenticity of their Italian cuisines: Testaccio Ristorante, Cacio e Vino, Ovest, Lievito and Ballarò. Chefs will prepare traditional menus, featuring some of Apulia’s most delicious dishes and paired with Tenute Rubino’s finest wines.

The labels selected are all expressions of the most popular grape varieties from Salento: Giancòla, rich and full white wine from white Malvasia grapes; Punta Aquila, warm and complex red wine from Primitivo grapes; Torre Testa, rare and precious red wine from 100% Susumaniello grapes and Aleatico, deep and voluptuous naturally sweet red wine from 100% Aleatico grapes. "We would like to thank all participating restaurants and wine bars – says Luigi Rubino manager of the family winery for 10 years – who honored us with their collaboration on this project. Even in the competitive U.S. market, where our wines are increasingly gaining interest, part of this success is definitely due to the authenticity of Italian food globally, featured by talented chefs who bring the quality and tradition of Italian cuisine to many countries of the world.'
