Starting in March 2025, Tenute Rubino is enthusiastically joining the ETICO Project by Amorim Cork Italia, an initiative that combines environmental sustainability and social solidarity through the collection and recycling of cork stoppers.
An Initiative That Makes a Difference
Launched in 2011, the ETICO Project by Amorim Cork, promotes the conscious recycling of cork, preventing millions of stoppers from ending up in landfills. Every year, over 800 million cork stoppers—amounting to approximately 16 million tons of material—are discarded in Italy, despite their potential for recovery. Thanks to this initiative, more than 100 tons of cork stoppers are collected and recycled annually, reducing CO₂ emissions and contributing to environmental protection.
Giving New Life to Cork
The collected stoppers are shredded and transformed into a valuable raw material used in various sectors, from sustainable construction to interior design. This promotes a new circular economy model, where recycling translates into both beauty and functionality.
Concrete Support with “Il Bene Che Ti Voglio”
Amorim Cork donates the proceeds from the cork stopper collection carried out by Tenute Rubino to IL BENE CHE TI VOGLIO, a non-profit organization based in Brindisi that supports over 100 families with children and young people affected by autism spectrum disorders. The association works to raise community awareness and provide qualified rehabilitation services, fostering social inclusion and improving the quality of life for individuals with autism and their families.
Among the most significant projects promoted by the organization is “Città Smart in Blu”, an initiative aimed at making public and commercial spaces more accessible to autistic individuals. Thanks to this solidarity network, participating businesses offer priority access and welcoming environments, reducing the challenges these families face daily.
Why Did Tenute Rubino Choose to Join?
– For a sustainable future: Recycling cork stoppers reduces waste and protects the environment.
– For a circular economy: Giving materials a second life promotes a more responsible production model.
– For a positive social impact: Supporting Il Bene Che Ti Voglio means helping those living with autism spectrum disorders.
