Crossing Giancola 2026: nature, movement and wine at the Jaddico-Giancola Estate

On Sunday, 6 September 2026, starting at 4:30 p.m., Crossing Giancola returns: the Tenute Rubino event that invites guests to experience the Jaddico-Giancola Estate through movement, wellbeing, nature and wine.

Included in the collective calendar of Appia Wine Road, Crossing Giancola takes place in one of the winery’s most distinctive locations: the Jaddico-Giancola Estate, overlooking the coastal landscape north of Brindisi and located along the ancient route of the Via Traiana, in the final stretch that once led towards the sea and the city’s harbour.

Jaddico-Giancola is also the home of Susumaniello, the native grape variety that Tenute Rubino has helped to enhance and narrate over time, making it one of the most recognisable symbols of its production identity.

The event is not conceived as a competition, but as an experience. Not a race, therefore, but a different way of crossing the landscape: on foot, running, swimming, cycling or through yoga practice, connecting with the vineyards, dirt paths, Mediterranean scrub, the Giancola Canal and the sea horizon.

After its first, engaging edition, Crossing Giancola 2026 expands its programme with new activities designed for different audiences: sports enthusiasts, outdoor lovers, families, wine lovers and anyone looking for a regenerating experience in contact with nature.

The programme includes an active walk among the vine rows and rural landscape lasting around one hour, a route dedicated to runners, two proposals for cycling enthusiasts — one with mountain bikes and one with trekking bikes — a yoga session immersed in the quiet of the estate, conceived as a moment of listening, breathing and wellbeing, and a new swimming experience in the stretch of sea near Torre Testa. It is another way to experience the identity of Jaddico-Giancola, an estate whose proximity to the sea is a distinctive feature of its landscape and viticultural vocation.

All activities will end around 7:00 p.m., when the different groups will come together in the tasting area for the final moment of the experience: a sunset aperitif in front of Torre Testa, with the sea in the background and the golden light of the evening accompanying the return.

The tasting will feature wines produced from grapes grown exclusively at the Jaddico-Giancola Estate: a way to close the journey in the very place where those wines are born, rediscovering in the glass the same light, breeze and identity encountered throughout the experience.

This will be the moment when movement gives way to conviviality: an opportunity to come together, share the experience and savour the landscape through its wines.

Crossing Giancola thus renews its original spirit: crossing a place, listening to its nature, recognising its history and experiencing it together, through wellbeing, wine and landscape.
