Wine and singer-songwriter music, “Cantine aperte” returns at Tenute Rubino

Among glasses, scents, and singer-songwriter music, one of the most anticipated events of the Apulian spring returns this year for wine enthusiasts.

On May 25th, we will open the doors to wine lovers for the 2024 edition of “Cantine Aperte“, organized in all regions of Italy by the Wine Tourism Movement.

Wine, music, local food, and sustainability are the key concepts of the events organized for the entire day, with morning appointments dedicated to tours inside the winery and informal tastings that, as the hours go by, will make way for the most glamorous event of the day: the elegant “Rubino Wine Party” for lovers of the magical combination of wine and music.

Between tastings and guided tours, there will be three morning appointments.

The day will start at 10:30 with the Susumaniello Wine Tasting.

The first appointment includes a guided tour of the winery. A passionate and engaging narrative will revive the history of the company and its lush vineyards, with a journey during which guests will be accompanied to visit the places of grape transformation and wine refinement.

A journey into history that will culminate with a guided tasting led by the winemaker of the winery, Luca Petrelli, who will guide visitors in tasting the references that have made susumaniello famous worldwide. To conclude, there will also be a tasting of a historical vintage of the iconic Torre Testa:

  • Sumaré metodo classico 60 months
  • Oltremé rosato 2023 Igt Salento
  • Oltremé red 2020  Doc Brindisi
  • Torre Testa 2019 Doc Brindisi
  • Torre Testa Igt Salento 2016

Limited spots, only 18, to take part in an exciting and passionate one-and-a-half-hour journey. Ticket cost 30€.

At 11:00, we continue with the Selection Wine Tasting.

A convivial atmosphere for the second guided tour of the day in one of the most beautiful places of the winery, the fascinating corridor overlooking the barrel room, a space where an exhibition of the creations of the master glassmaker Maria Concetta Malorzo will be displayed, and a privileged place on this occasion for the tasting of 5 labels, specially selected to discover the peculiarities of the different family estates:

  • Lamiro 2023 Verdeca Igt Valle d’Itria (Tenuta Padula di Geremia)
  • Lamo 2021 Ottavianello Doc Ostuni (Vigneto di Ostuni)
  • Punta Aquila 2020 Primitivo Igt Salento (Tenuta Uggio-Punta Aquila)
  • Oltremè Susumaniello 2020 Doc Brindisi (Tenuta di Jaddico)

The third and final appointment of the morning is organized at 12:30 to conclude a beautiful spring day.

The Lungomare Regina Margherita in Brindisi will be the perfect setting for the last tasting tour of the day.

The program includes:

12:30 Guided tour in the winery

Ticket cost: 45 euros.

The winery on May 25th will still be open to wine enthusiasts for informal tastings at the company’s wine shop from 10 am to 1 pm.

The winery experience will not end with the morning appointments but will continue with an evening event marked by good music and tasting of the best labels chosen to accompany excellent street food.

The winery will open its doors to evening guests at 9 pm to kick off the highly anticipated “Rubino Wine Party.”

Among whites, rosés, reds, and tasting stands with local food, ready to delight the most demanding palates, the wines will be the protagonists, but also the music of the artist of Cuban origin Jennifer Vargas Antela, singer of Pop, Soul, and RnB music, already known for her various participations in different talent shows and TV programs, but above all for her collaborations with Zucchero and Mario Biondi. Accompanying Jennifer Vargas Antela’s warm and powerful voice will be the band, which among its members also boasts the presence of the talented artist Antonella Loconsole.

Guests will be able to taste the excellent wines of Tenute Rubino that will accompany delicious proposals of local food with stations dedicated to tasting cheeses, cold cuts, and seasonal vegetables, and a corner reserved for the live preparation of hot, steaming panzerotti. There will be 4 stands dedicated to tasting the new vintages of whites and rosés that will excite younger palates but at the same time will be appreciated by red wine enthusiasts, the classics of Tenute Rubino, which naturally will not be missing, as tradition dictates in every event of the winery.

Whether they are white, rosé, or red, the wines of Tenute Rubino will be the perfect accompaniment to the delicacies found in the corner dedicated to cheese specialties. It will be difficult to choose between warm mozzarellas, succulent burratas, and semi-aged and aged spiced cheeses.

There will also be, of course, a corner dedicated to Apulian cold cuts. Faeto Ham will compete with the exquisite Capocollo di Martina Franca, both served with fragrant bread baked in a wood-fired oven.

A place of honor will be dedicated to the beloved Apulia. Among the tasting stands, skilled “massaie” will also engage in the live preparation of fried panzerotti, to be chosen after tasting crispy focaccias from Bari, fragrant pettole, meatballs, and battered vegetables.

Between tastings of local food and glasses of excellent wines from Tenute Rubino, the elegant notes and warm black voice of Jennifer Vargas Antela will start the evening, accompanying guests in a crescendo of emotions and with a selection of engaging songs and music that, as the hours go by, will make way for pure fun.

Ticket cost: 40 euros
