Tenute Rubino's rosè takes the coveted gold medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2011.

Tenute Rubino’s rosè takes the coveted gold medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, confirming it as one of the most respected Italian rosè wines.
The Saturnino, Negroamaro rosè from the Brindisi company Tenute Rubino, claimed gold at the Luxembourg edition of the "Concours Mondial de Bruxelles", the most fully representative international wine competition. After recent praise for the 2007 Torre Testa from the U.S. magazine Wine Enthusiast – 93 points for this Susumaniello – the international commissions awarded Luigi Rubino’s company another important sign of recognition.
Following on from Palermo, the 18th edition of the Concours was held this year from 6th to 8th May in Luxembourg, transforming the city from the capital of European Union institutions into the world capital of wine, 7386 wines from 50 countries have tasting stands and there were 285 expert judges tasting wines from 40 different countries.
The gold medal for Tenute Rubino’s 2010 vintage rosè is the only recognition of quality assigned to a rosÈ from Altosalento. This medal lauds the wine’s rich quality and texture, drawing inspiration from one of the most vital traditions of wine making in this region, the production of rosè here is one of the oldest and most important in Italy. Over the years, it has demonstrated its ability to interpret Negroamaro in a new and highly personal way.

"For us", - says Louis Rubino - "it is a great satisfaction to receive such an important prize with our rosè at this wine festival, known and unique for its emphasis on the international market. Rosè wine is, in Salento, an ancient cultural tradition that seems to have finally been noticed by both national and international markets. This prestigious award confirms our ability to create fresh, modern wines, able to win over and impassion consumers and critics from all over the world."
Saturnino wine has an exciting, unparalleled character: its deep tones reflecting the colours in a summer sunset reveal to the palate excellent qualities of lightness, freshness, flavour and great versatility in pairing. A wine with an authentic expression of the landscape and a renewed tradition which gives a primacy to rosè wines. The Tenute Rubino rosè is a fantastic wine and this gold medal, from one of the largest and most respected international competitions, definitively establishes the value of the latest vintages and investment put into this area of Salento and the fine work of this Brindisi company in its path toward ever higher goals of oenological excellence.
